  • Authorized and designed by vanderbrickfan, this minifigure scale model can be compatible with any minifigure scale modular building.
  • This Vught station is modelled on the real station in the town where I live: Vught, near the city of 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. The original station building in Vught was opened in 1868 and closed for operations in 2003. The building is a state monument. It is the last remaining station building of this type in the Netherlands. After a few years of not being used, it was renovated and rented out as offices. My model largely resembles the situation in 2003, before its station function ended.
  • For practical reasons, I made some design decisions that differ from the actual building. From the outside, the most obvious is that the wall space between doors and windows in my design is about 50% smaller than the real building, to save space and bricks. This naturally resulted in less interior space, so I had to be creative in some places in the design of the ground floor hallway, ticket booth, waiting area, etc. I used original plans from the archives for the design and also modeled parts of the interior from old photographs.
  • Originally, in the actual building, the 2nd floor was the living area and kitchen for the station cook, and the 3rd floor was the bedrooms. I added stairs in my model but left the space empty so you can fill them as you wish.
  • The Vught station building is a state monument. It is the last remaining station building of this type in the Netherlands (enlarged standardized 5th class station building). In our country, a series of standardized station buildings for 1st class (largest cities) to 5th class (smallest cities with a stop) were developed in the 19th century. This standardization was intended to increase construction speed, reduce costs and create corporate identity. In most cases, a specific architect drew up the standardized plans for each specific station and situation. The architect of the original plan was KH van Brederode, the design for Vught was adapted by ir. G. van Diessen.
