The Mi-8 is a medium-sized twin-turbine helicopter originally designed by the Soviet Union in the 1960s and introduced to the Soviet Union in 1968. It is currently manufactured in Russia. In addition to its most common role as a transport helicopter, the Mi-8 can also serve as an air command post, armed helicopter, and reconnaissance platform.
