  • Designed in 1:485 scale, this Brick.naval.architecture authorized model is a faithful replica of the Soviet Navy battlecruiser. The model accurately recreates various features such as the deck, weapon systems, control room and radar.
  • The Kirov class, Soviet designation Project 1144 Orlan (Sea Eagle), is a class of nuclear-powered guided missile battlecruisers of the Soviet and Russian Navies, the largest and heaviest surface warships (i.e., not an aircraft carrier or amphibious assault ship) in service worldwide. Among modern warships, they are second only to large aircraft carriers, and are similar in size to a World War I-era battleship. Due to their size and general appearance, the ships are often referred to as battlecruisers by Western defense commentators. The Soviet classification of the ship type is "heavy nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser" (Russian: тяжёлый атомный ракетный крейсер).
  • The emergence of the Kirov class played a key role in the United States Navy's recommissioning of the Iowa-class battleships in the 1980s.
  • The Kirov-class hull design was also used for the Soviet nuclear-powered command and control ship SSV-33 Ural.
