- Designed and authorized by Germanrailwaybuilder, this model is inspired by the second class carriages of Deutsche Bahn AG trains and features intricate detailing in a harmonious black and white color scheme.
- The ICE high-speed trains of the Deutsche Bahn series 406 from the ICE-3 family are referred to as a multi-system variant of the series 403. A total of seventeen examples were built. The ICE trains, including three from the Dutch railways, mainly travel to Amsterdam and Brussels, but since the ICE route to France was converted to the series 407, they have also been increasingly used within Germany. The 200.84 meter long multiple units consist of eight carriages and have been in passenger service since 2000. With a maximum permissible speed of 330 km/h, they are the fastest passenger trains in Germany alongside the trains of the series 403. In operation, these electric multiple units regularly reach up to 300 km/h in Germany. When the multiple units 4680–4685 were used on the LGV Est européenne, speeds of up to 320 km/h were reached as planned. The power supply is provided by the on-board restaurant. The carriages can be coupled with a four-arm lifting platform or an old magnetic coupling.
