This Technic Balance Clock with Korfhage Differential Power Pendulum is based on a balance clock and was designed by author Nico71. The clock is weighted by a battery compartment and powered by a Korfhage differential on the pendulum. It has a planetary gear on the drive train and another planetary gear on the M-motor. A control lever connected to a switch operates the tuner by contact with the end stops. The escapement is a lever escapement which is easy to adjust. The clock runs as long as the battery is charged and has a time accuracy of approximately 1-5 minutes per day.

The escape wheel is operated every 5 minutes, which may seem little, but the angular displacement of the weight is also small compared to a classic weight and drum system (with meters of rope).
I used the highest gear ratio I could to achieve maximum autonomy and enough torque to operate the escapement. The ratio between escape wheel and minute hand is 5:1 x 5:1 x 5:1 x 3:1 = 375:1. The escape wheel has 8 teeth and the tic-tac duration is 1.2 seconds. Therefore, the minute hand moves per second approximately: 1 / (375 * 8 teeth * 1.2 seconds) = 1 : 3600, which is correct. The two wheels at the ends of the balance arm can be moved to get the correct tic-tac time. Of course, the ratio between minute hand and hour hand is 1:12, which gives 12:24 x 12:24 x 8:24 = 12:1.
