MOC-90977 Halloween Spider Box Clamp Building Blocks

Designed and authorized by Nico71, this set was created especially for Halloween.

As for the function, the spider is mounted on a linkage mechanism with two springs. These springs are designed to be locked in the lower position but start to press as soon as the system is triggered. The trigger consists of a rotating lever connected to the crank that presses the parallelogram. The opening upper part of the box is also spring-loaded to facilitate opening and keep it in the open position.

The author uses some tricks to ensure correct operation. The mechanism is equipped with two rubber parts to cushion the shock at the end stop. The upper opening part is equipped with rolling parts to reduce friction when opening the box. The trigger lever can be turned in both directions without an end stop, so you don't know when the spider will jump. It is also equipped with a friction gear so that the user does not feel when the trigger is pulled.

This contributes to having a spider that surprises since we don't know when it will jump, so if someone comes to your house and asks for candy, ask them to just turn the crank of this box beforehand...
