  • Designed and authorized by Germanrailwaybuilder. This model is inspired by the EMU of Deutsche Bahn.
  • The ICE high-speed trains of Deutsche Bahn, series 406, belong to the ICE 3 family and are the multi-system variant of the series 403. A total of seventeen examples were built. The ICE trains, including three from the Dutch railways, mainly run on the routes to Amsterdam and Brussels, but since the modernization of the ICE route to France to the series 407, they have also been increasingly used within Germany. Each train, with a length of 200.84 meters, consists of eight carriages and has been in passenger service since 2000. With a permissible speed of 330 km/h, these trains are the fastest passenger trains in Germany alongside the series 403. In regular operation, these electric multiple units reach speeds of up to 300 km/h in Germany. When used on the LGV Est européenne, the multiple units 4680–4685 reached scheduled speeds of up to 320 km/h. The trains are powered by two buggy engines inside the carriage. The carriages can be coupled with a four-arm lifting platform or an old magnetic coupling.
