Designed and authorized by Nico71, this model is inspired by a renowned truck brand. It features steering connected to the steering wheel, an 8-speed DNR gearbox, control mechanisms both inside and outside the cabin, suspension, opening components and a tilting cabin. The product is well designed, robust and aesthetically pleasing. It also emphasizes the fun of assembly, which makes it very attractive and collectible.
-
The steering is operated by a rack and pinion through a bevel gear connected to a hand of God in the center of the chassis. The steering wheel is connected to the steering mechanism with a universal joint and an 8-tooth gear that drives a 24-tooth gear on the chassis. It allows for quick disconnection when the cab is tilted.
-
The front suspension consists of double wishbones with two shock absorbers side by side to compensate for the high weight of the cabin. The rear suspension consists of a solid axle with only two shock absorbers with a more angled design to compensate for the weight difference between the front and rear axles.
-
The speed change gear consists of a DNR selector + 8 sequential speeds operated by a steeper mechanism that is closed over that of my alternate model 42115 with revised bracing to minimize friction. The speed change gear controls are located on both sides of the Hog in the center of the chassis. The left selector (gray bar) is used to select the mode (D, N, R) and the right selector is used to select the speed.
-
Additional linkage mechanisms in the chassis connect each selector switch to other controls in the cab. In this way, the two grey bars inside the cab are also connected to the speed change gear functions.
-
The cabin can be tilted to expose the linkage mechanism and motor.
