  • Designed and authorized by count_of_brick, this carefully crafted model faithfully recreates the iconic details and design elements of the Mikuma Cruiser, a major player in the historical conflicts of the era. Faithfully reproducing the intriguing details of the Mikuma Cruiser, this cruiser features five triple turrets with an elevation angle of 55°, as well as brown decks and green armor that capture the essence of its original design.

  • Mikuma was a heavy cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The second of the four highest-ranking ships, she was laid down in 1931 and commissioned in 1935. During World War II, she took part in the Battle of Sunda Strait in February 1942 and the Battle of Midway in June 1942, but was sunk on 6 June, the last day of the latter engagement. The ship was named after the Mikuma River in Oita Prefecture, Japan. Mikuma was completed on 29 August 1935 at the Mitsubishi Nagasaki Shipyard, and took part in the Battle of Sunda Strait and the Battle of Midway. Due to secrecy and attempts to cover up the Midway disaster, the Naval General Command listed Mikuma as "severely damaged" rather than sunk, then temporarily listed her as "unmanned" and struck her from the Navy list on 10 August 1942.
