- Designed and authorized by ny152_halle, this model replicates World War II U.S. Navy motorboats whose exploits are immortalized in the book and film. Bulkeley was awarded the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Philippine Legion of Honor, and Silver Star during his command, making him one of the most decorated U.S. Navy officers of World War II.
- Motor Boat 3 (MTBRon 3) was a U.S. Navy motor boat unit stationed in the Philippines from September 1941 to mid-April 1942. Under the command of Lieutenant John D. Bulkeley, it consisted of six motor boats: PT-31, PT-32, PT-33, PT-34, PT-35, and PT-41, with PT-31 serving as flagship. After the Battle of the Solomon Islands, MTBRon 3(2) was decommissioned and later reactivated as 2(2) in the Atlantic.
