Mir Space Station (Russian: Мир, meaning "Peace" or "World") was a space station that operated in low Earth orbit from 1986 to 2001, initially operated by the Soviet Union and later by Russia. Mir was the first modular space station and was assembled in orbit from 1986 to 1996 with a mass larger than any previous spacecraft. At the time, it was the largest artificial satellite in orbit and was succeeded by the ISS after the retirement of Mir. The station served as a microgravity research laboratory where experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, meteorology, and spacecraft systems were conducted with the goal of developing the necessary technologies for long-duration space habitation.

Designed and authorized by NightHawk11991, this 1/220 scale spacecraft model, known as the MIR version, showcases the overall structure of the space station, allowing you to appreciate the technical innovations of this Soviet space station and relate them to the scale of the ISS, which can be hard to grasp. The excellent smooth model in consistent color offers high visual appeal and collectible value.
